Georgia O'Keeffe

These are paintings by Georgia O'Keeffe. I don't know much about her, or her life right now. But, I do know how much I love these paintings. They area little big for the blog, I know. but, how else can you see the contrast and use of color? I do know she loved the southwest very much. As you can see in the painting above.
The ones below are entirely different. I have heard the stories of what she painted in the petals...and in some can see what the point. Her response to the tales of what her petals represented? "What the viewer is thinking of when they look at my paintings, is not was I was thinking of when I painted them." I don't think it matters. I can almost feel the silk of the petals when I look at these. So does it matter what 's inside the flower? And, the erotisism only adds to the allure.
