A Thousand Splendid Suns

I read alot of books. That may be an understatement. I read ALOT of books!! I think in the last couple months I have read 14. That's a good average for me. (It will drop when Baby J is out for the summer!) Some I enjoy at the time and within a year I couldn't tell you what it was about. But others live with me. And, I mean that literally. I can fell them inside of me. If I stop to think of them, I can feel everything I felt the first time I read those words. There are fewer and fewer of these special books as I get older. But, I finished one Friday.
A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini is one of those living books. It is breath-taking, heart-breaking, and beautiful. It is the story of 2 very different young women in Afghanistan. It is a work of fiction, but you can this story could happen, maybe already has. I don't want people to know much of the story, but I want women to read this. Especially the young ones. I have never felt how lucky I was to be born here until I read this book. I am thankful now everyday for what I have. If anyone reads this entry, all I can say is read this book. NOW!!!
